Our headquarters and administrative office is located in San Francisco, California, with area offices in Southern California (Long Beach and satellite offices in San Diego and Port Hueneme) and the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Oregon and Seattle and Tacoma, Washington) in addition to Northern California (Oakland).
SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Training Manager, the Training Assistant assists with the skill and cognitive cargo handling training for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) by performing the following duties personally or in support of the PMA Training Supervisors and ILWU Instructors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Key point of contact for front desk visitors and other office administrative duties.
Process address forms and W4 updates.
Maintain the training calendar and schedule training events.
Key point of contact for stakeholder questions and messages.
Input training attendee data and process testing results.
Assist with scheduling physicals and drug/alcohol testing.
Process payrolls.
Provide ID cards.
Issue training citation letters.
Utilize PMAAD services through the Document Management System (DMS).
Maintain training material inventory.
Maintain site hard hat and vest inventory.
Prepare classrooms for various training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Two years of college or equivalent work experience in a similar office environment.
Excellent computer skills and experience using robust systems such as Oracle and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to use software tools to present data clearly and concisely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT PMA's Wilmington training site is located within miles of downtown Long Beach.
PMA offers a professional, flexible, and collaborative environment.
This position is required to drive to various waterfront locations, walk around marine terminals, climb aboard ships and various cargo handling equipment and transport training material.
This is an onsite position.
