Vice President of Sales

Our client, located in Wilmington, CA (near the Port of LA), is seeking a key member of the corporate management team . Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Sales will guide the organization's overall sales efforts to create a world-class environment. Key to this individual's success will be their ability to put to use their prior Hispanic food sales experience and utilize their intellect and business acumen to navigate a highly complex industry. The Vice President of Sales will hire, train, develop, motivate, and lead a professional team to introduce and implement sales best practices to ensure the team's overall results.  The Vice President of Sales must instill this commitment throughout the sales organization. As the company continues to grow it is imperative that the Vice President of Sales set the strategic direction of the sales organization for all channels of distribution and ensure that they are aligned with the company vision and mission. In addition to direct sales management duties, the Vice President of Sales holds a strategic role in the organization and will participate with the rest of the senior leadership team to develop and execute the organization's Strategic Plan. Working collaboratively with supply chain, engineering and finance stakeholders, the Vice President of Sales will lead new product development, identify new markets and assessing potential product/brand acquisitions. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Drive strategic leadership and direction for each channel to distinguish the Company within the industry as a Top Tier Hispanic Foods operation. + Lead and own trade spending process and budget. + Facilitate the development and presentation of promotional and program proposals in conjunction with the Marketing and sales planning team; includes brand strategy, product mix, pricing, merchandising, plan-o- gram and promotion plans and participate in product line reviews. + Establish and maintain relationships with retail Grocery chains, Independents, Mass Market, Club Stores, Foodservice and other channels to broaden distribution throughout North America and Mexico to yield double-digit growth of top accounts. + Cultivate appropriate Broker strategy, contracts, and coverage plans to service key customers to achieve growth objectives and organizational development. + Lead, plan, manage, develop, and execute pricing actions of the company to enhance margins and overall profitability delivering company objectives within the competitive marketplace. + Forecast, manage, and influence inventoryin conjunction with the sales, production, operation, procurement, co-pack, product supply and logistics teams to maximize return on inventory assets. 9-12 Month Mission Critical Objectives: The overall objective of this role is to lead to strategies to ensure sustained he sales organization to ensure the growth and profitability of the business. Specific near-term objectives include: + Grow the business by 5-10% in 2019 achieving $100M in overall revenue. + Build your team so it can expand into new channels, products and markets. + Rework trade promotional spend for sustainable improvements in spend productivity. Required Experience: + Sales management experience in a highly regarded food manufacturing business with strong knowledge of Hispanic/Mexican products and markets for a minimum of 10 years. + Experience championing sales nationally in the US with some experience in Mexico through Direct Management, Broker Management, and distributors/wholesalers. + Ability to show an excellent track record of success, and be comfortable working in a fast pace, high growth environment. + Must have a combination of large company experience (Fortune 500 Food Company) coupled with several years driving accelerated growth in an entrepreneurial company. + Must be bilingual (English/ Spanish)   Personal Attributes: Our client is a professional, performance-driven culture that starts every day with a winning attitude. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
